Not a coffee fan? No worries! There is a wide selection of teas available here at Hidden River, provided by Townshend’s Tea Company. Townshend’s offers a thorough list of fresh, expertly crafted loose leaf teas from all categories (black, green, red, herbal) as well as Brew Dr. Kombucha. Don’t know what to try? We can help!
Black Tea has the most caffeine, and stronger flavor. We offer a Creme de la Earl Grey tea which is blended with blue cornflower blossoms and an essence of French crème. Try it as a London Fog Latte (Earl Grey tea, steamed milk, vanilla)! We also serve English Breakfast, which is a classic blend of long-leaf Ceylon and Assam teas. Try it with milk and sugar. For those who enjoy spice teas, we offer Market Spice black tea, whose tea leaves are infused with a cinnamon-orange oil and bits of dried orange peel are added.
Green Tea tends to have more earthy tones, and has about half the amount of caffeine as black tea. Black and green tea are made from the same type of tea leaves, but green is less oxidized. For green tea, we offer Soaring Crane which is a smooth and satisfying organic green tea grown high in the mountains of southern China.
Rooibos (Red Bush) Tea
Rooibos Tea is naturally caffeine free and is made from Aspalathus linearis and grown in primarily in South Africa. We serve Rooibos Cinnamon Spice here at Hidden River, which is an invigorating combination of rooibos, cinnamon, orange peel and clove, making it naturally sweet.
Herbal Teas (Tisanes)
Herbal tea is naturally decaffeinated, and is typically made from infusion of leaves, fruit, herbs, or spices. We offer Chamomile herbal tea, made from sweet chamomile blossoms, and with a mild honey-apple aroma. We also offer a tea called Forest Park, which is a mix of bits of dried fruits that are native to the northwest (blackberries, strawberries and raspberries). Our final herbal tea, Peppermint, is a highly popular herbal tea, full of crisp peppermint flavor, and grown here in the U.S.
Come enjoy tea time here at Hidden River Roasters…we are sure to find you a delicious tea to try!
